The Crowns 2021
Player at The Crowns WD from the game being suspected for COVID-19 infection
On May 1st, Day 3 of The Crowns, participating player Takashi Iwamoto has contacted JGTO informing that he has high fever. Takashi was brought to the parking lot of the course and his temperature at that point was 37.8 degrees Celsius. He has been checked positive on the rapid antigen test, then has taken to a hospital and underwent PCR test which was also positive.
At this point Takashi Iwamoto has withdrawn from the tournament. All of the players, caddies, and staffs who had close contact with Takashi on prior day all resulted negative on the antigen test. Every possible place at the course where Takashi has been in contact was sanitized.
With meticulous attention being paid at the tournament site, tournament host and organizers has decided to go on with the Sunday's Final Round as scheduled.
Tournament host and organizing body promises to make everything possible to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 and will protect everyone involved on the tournament with care.
